Deborah is a perioperative and anesthesia executive with more than 20 years of progressive clinical and operational leadership across regional health systems, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and CRNA practice models. She most recently served as Chief CRNA and Perioperative Executive for a major academic health system region, providing executive and clinical leadership across two hospitals and two surgical centers, and previously directed perioperative services and CRNA operations across a six-hospital region and a dedicated ambulatory surgery center — where she founded the region's first Center for Perioperative Care.
Her results from those roles include expanding a CRNA workforce from 56 to 72 providers in eight months during a national shortage; growing another region from 32 CRNAs plus locum coverage to 52 full-time CRNAs with zero locum dependence in 21 months; reducing OR staff vacancies from 45% to 4%; improving block utilization from 58% to 80%; achieving greater than 95% on-time starts; and cutting PACU/OR holds by 98%. She also co-chaired perioperative efficiency initiatives that identified over $13 million in scheduling inefficiencies and tens of millions more in actionable opportunity costs.
Deborah remains a practicing CRNA with expertise spanning MAC, general, regional, and neuraxial anesthesia across virtually every specialty. She holds a Master's in Health Science from La Roche College/Excela Health School of Anesthesia and a BSN from West Virginia University.
Shane leads BluePeak's business operations, contracting, and financial management. He is a doctoral researcher in business at Virginia Tech, where his research focuses on healthcare operations — including surgical scheduling accuracy and operating room efficiency — and he holds an MBA and bachelor's degrees in both accounting and finance from West Virginia University.
His published research includes work improving surgical case scheduling accuracy from 32% to 77% at a Level II trauma center, and a 17,000-case study of operating room case-duration prediction at a Level I trauma center. That evidence-based approach to perioperative operations informs every BluePeak engagement.
Beyond his research, Shane builds healthcare academic programs across multiple campuses and states, and co-owns several businesses spanning healthcare and hospitality. His background in operational turnarounds — taking underperforming operations to top-ranked performance — informs BluePeak's disciplined, data-driven approach to anesthesia service management.
